Virat Kohli Reaches 14,000 ODI Runs Fastest

Virat Kohli has become the fastest batter to reach 14,000 runs in one-day international cricket. He achieved this milestone on Sunday during India’s Group A game against Pakistan at the Champions Trophy, where he also hit a record-extending 51st century.

Kohli started the day on 13,985 runs and was batting in his 287th innings when he powered the chase to finish on 100 not out. He hit the winning boundary as India beat Pakistan by six wickets with 45 balls remaining.

This achievement marks a significant milestone in Kohli’s illustrious career, putting him in the same league as cricket greats Sachin Tendulkar and Sri Lankan Kumar Sangakkara. Tendulkar was the previous quickest batter to reach 14,000 ODI runs, taking 350 innings, while Sangakkara finished his career with 14,234 runs in 380 innings.

Kohli’s record-breaking performance has put India’s chances of a potential early exit from the tournament at risk. Despite this, Kohli’s incredible skill and dedication to the sport have earned him a place among the greatest batsmen of all time.
