Virginia Wins $348 Million in Mega Millions Jackpot

A single ticket sold in Virginia matched all six numbers drawn on June 27 to take the prize of $348 million. This is the fourth jackpot win in 2025 and the largest Mega Millions jackpot won by Virginia, surpassing a previous record set in 2016.

The new $5 game format has produced more winning tickets than expected, with nearly 4.9 million across all prize tiers for total non-jackpot winnings of nearly $120 million. The increased lower-tier prizes are a primary benefit of the new price point, with eight multi-million second-tier prizes awarded in this jackpot run alone.

In addition to the top prize, there were 107 third-tier winning tickets across 31 states, with prizes ranging from $20,000 to $100,000. The odds of winning any Mega Millions prize are 1 in 23, while the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 290,472,336.

The next drawing is on July 1, resetting to its new starting value of $50 million. The game has produced seven jackpot wins exceeding $1 billion each, with record-breaking jackpots in South Carolina and Florida. Tickets are sold nationwide for $5 each, with half of the proceeds remaining in the state where the ticket was purchased.
