Vultr, the world’s largest privately-held cloud infrastructure company, has completed a growth financing round valued at $3.5 billion. The new funding is led by LuminArx Capital Management and AMD Ventures.
With this investment, Vultr plans to accelerate its global expansion in AI infrastructure and cloud computing. The company will use the funds to expand access to its global cloud infrastructure platform, enabling a new era of AI-native applications. Vultr’s platform is available across 32 cloud data center regions across six continents, making it the only globally-available, independent, full-stack AI infrastructure and cloud computing platform.
Vultr has been self-funded for over a decade since its founding in 2014 by David Aninowsky. The company provides industry-leading scalability, global reach, compliance, and price-to-performance for AI infrastructure and cloud computing. Its flexible solutions include Cloud Compute, Cloud GPU, Bare Metal, and Cloud Storage.
The new financing is expected to help Vultr meet the growing demand for high-performance compute in AI applications. According to a recent report from 451 Research, enterprises will push AI beyond training to the edge during 2025. This investment will enable Vultr to expand its worldwide cloud GPU fleet to support enterprise customers and AI innovators building, deploying, and scaling AI worldwide.
LuminArx Capital Management and AMD Ventures are excited about the partnership with Vultr. “Vultr distinguishes itself through exceptional leadership, outstanding execution, and a proven track record of delivering high-performance cloud infrastructure,” said Tanisha Keshava Bellur, Partner at LuminArx. Mathew Hein, Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of Corporate Development at AMD, added that Vultr’s deep experience in delivering secure, compliant, and scalable cloud infrastructure positions them as an innovative cloud solutions provider.
Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC served as the exclusive financial advisor to Vultr for this transaction. The funding will help Vultr continue its mission to make high-performance cloud infrastructure easy to use, affordable, and locally accessible for enterprises and AI innovators around the world.
