Walmart Recalls 850K Ozark Trail Water Bottles Over Safety Concerns

Walmart is recalling approximately 850,000 water bottles due to safety concerns. The recall affects Ozark Trail 64 oz. Stainless Steel Insulated Water Bottles sold exclusively at the retail giant.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the lid of these bottles can forcefully eject when opened, causing “serious impact and laceration hazards.” The agency has received reports of three customers being injured by the ejected lid, with two sustaining permanent vision loss after being struck in the eye.

The bottles are manufactured in China and sold exclusively at Walmart. To identify the product, look for model number 83-662 on the packaging. The stainless steel bottles have a silver body and black screwcap lid.

Walmart has taken steps to address this issue and ensure consumer safety. However, due to the severity of the injuries reported, the company is taking proactive measures to recall the affected products and prevent further harm.
