Walmart, Target Oyster Crackers Recalled Over Wire Contamination

A recall has been issued for oyster crackers sold at Walmart and Target in 24 states due to potential foreign matter contamination. The affected products include Market Pantry, Great Value, Giant Eagle, and Vista brands.

The recalled items may contain fragments of stainless-steel wire, which was recently classified as a Class II recall. This means the affected products are contained and unlikely to cause serious harm or illness. However, consumers who experience any signs of injury or illness after consuming the recalled oyster crackers should contact their doctor immediately.

Recalled oyster crackers were sold in Alabama, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.

Consumers can return recalled items to their place of purchase for a refund. To report the issue or ask for additional information, they can file an online report through the FDA’s safety reporting portal or call 1-888-INFO-FDA (1-888-463-6332).
