Relic Entertainment has released the remastered version of Warhammer 40k Dawn of War, just in time for its 21st birthday. The game, which was first released in 2004, is now available on Steam and GOG with improved visuals, technical enhancements, and updated gameplay mechanics.
The remaster, dubbed the Dawn of War Definitive Edition, bundles the base game with three expansions – Winter Assault, Dark Crusade, and Soulstorm – into a single package. This new version boasts full 4K support, up to four times upscaled textures, new lighting effects, and improved HUD design.
Gameplay remains largely unchanged, but players can expect improvements to pathfinding and large-army support. The game is also still compatible with community-created mods developed over the past two decades.
Warhammer fans can now jump into battle once again, with a 10% introductory discount making it $26.99 / £21.59 for newcomers. Existing owners of the Dawn of War Anniversary Edition can enjoy a 30% discount on the new remaster.
The Dawn of War Definitive Edition is available now on Steam and GOG, offering a nostalgic gaming experience with modern updates and improvements.
