Warner Bros. Shakes Up Release Schedule Amidst Movie Delays

Warner Bros. has made significant changes to its release schedule, impacting several highly anticipated movies. While Superman is still set for a July release, other films are facing delays or changes in their release windows.

The most notable delay belongs to Maggie Gyllenhaal’s “The Bride!” starring Christian Bale and Jessie Buckley. Originally set for September 26, the film has been pushed back almost six months to March 6, 2026, where it will compete with a new Pixar movie called “Hoppers.” This move comes after Warner Bros. had previously seen success with similar release strategies in films like “Dune” and “Godzilla x Kong.”

As a result of the September date shift, Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another,” starring Leonardo DiCaprio, has also moved up to September 26, replacing its original August 8 release date. Meanwhile, “Weapons,” directed by Zach Cregger, has been accelerated from January 2026 to August 8, 2025, where it will face off against “Freakier Friday.”

However, not all the changes are positive news for fans. David Robert Mitchell’s “Flowervale Street” has had its release date pushed again from this summer to March 2026 and now is set for August 14, 2026. The film stars Ewan McGregor and Anne Hathaway, with rumors of dinosaurs in the mix.

Finally, Bill Hader’s animated voice role in “Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat” has been moved from its original release date on March 6, 2026, to February 27, 2026.

Despite these changes, the overall release schedule for other Warner Bros. films remains largely unchanged, with “Minecraft,” “Sinners,” and “Final Destination: Bloodlines” set for April, April, and May respectively. The rest of the schedule includes releases for “F1,” “Superman,” and “Mortal Kombat 2” in July, October, and December.

While some fans may be disappointed by these changes, it’s clear that Warner Bros. is taking a calculated approach to their release strategy, aiming to maximize box office success for each film.
