However, the Warriors eventually found their rhythm and outworked, out-hustled, and out-executed their opponents to secure the win.
The game was tied at halftime, but the Warriors dominated the third quarter, taking advantage of every transition opportunity. A three-pointer by Steph Curry with 7:30 remaining in the frame gave Golden State the lead for good.
In the fourth quarter, the intensity picked up, and both teams played some of their best basketball. The Knicks made a push to regain the lead but ultimately fell behind as the Warriors defense locked down. A late surge led to an 11-0 run that put the Warriors up by 12 points with minutes remaining.
Steph Curry led the way for Golden State with 28 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists. Jimmy Butler III added 19 points, while Buddy Hield contributed 15 points. Draymond Green narrowly missed a triple-double with eight points, nine rebounds, and eight assists.
The Warriors will now enjoy a day off in New York before facing the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. PT.
