Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3 is set to launch on April 3, bringing back the original Verdansk map, remade from the ground up using updated technology. The remake has been designed to stay true to Infinity Ward’s original launch design while incorporating new features and improvements.
GameSpot spoke with Warzone developers Raven Software and Beenox about the remake of Verdansk, discussing changes to the map layout, POIs (points-of-interest), lighting, and more. Some notable updates include:
* The same map structure, but with improved lighting and graphics
* Enhanced topography, including new exterior textures and water effects
* Cosmetic details such as weeds on garage roofs and reflective puddles
* Improved building access, making it easier for players to engage in combat
* A new coastline playable area, allowing for swimming mechanics
The remake of Verdansk includes several popular POIs from the original map, such as Superstore, Prison, Train Station, and Gora Dam complex. The updated map also features improved interior lighting, including better access to the roof of some buildings.
Overall, Warzone’s Season 3 promises to deliver a fresh experience for players with the return of Verdansk in remade form.
