watchOS 11.4 Update Brings New Alarm Feature to Reduce Missed Alarms

Apple is releasing a small but useful update for the Apple Watch, specifically watchOS 11.4. This update includes a new feature that allows the Wake Up alarm in Sleep mode to break through when Silent Mode is activated on your watch.

Currently, if you have Silent Mode turned on, your Apple Watch alarm will use haptic feedback vibrations to tap you on the wrist to wake you up, but it won’t make noise. However, with the new update, you can turn on an option called Break Through Silent Mode, which will allow the alarm to use both sound and haptic feedback to wake you up.

This feature can be found by going to the Sleep app on Apple Watch, tapping on Sounds & Haptics, and toggling on the setting. You can also turn it on by opening the Alarm app and tapping any active alarm you have set up.

The watchOS 11.4 update is expected to launch in early April, and it also includes support for Matter-compatible robot vacuum cleaners and fixes an issue with face selection becoming unresponsive when switching faces.

While waiting for the update, Apple fans can look forward to rumors about upcoming devices, including the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, which are rumored to have an aluminum frame and other features.
