Wayne Osmond, the younger brother of Donny and Marie Osmond, has passed away at the age of 73. The cause of death has been revealed to be a massive stroke.
The Osmonds rose to fame in the 1960s after being discovered by Andy Williams’ father while performing at Disneyland. They became regular performers on “The Andy Williams Show” and later toured extensively throughout Europe. The group eventually went their separate ways as they pursued solo music careers.
Wayne was best known for his role in shaping the group’s sound, contributing to hits like “One Bad Apple”, “Crazy Horses”, and “Love Me for a Reason”. He was also a key figure in the evolution of The Osmonds from barbershop harmony to pop-rock sensations.
The family has released an emotional statement, describing Wayne as a “beloved husband and father” who passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. His siblings have shared heartfelt tributes on social media, praising his legacy of faith, music, love, and laughter.
Wayne was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 1997, which was successfully treated. However, he eventually retired from his music career due to a hearing impairment. He is survived by his wife Kathlyn Louise White and their five children.
Born in Ogden, Utah, Wayne was the second-oldest member of the original Osmond Brothers singing group and the fourth of the nine Osmond children.
