The City of Arlington has issued a statement addressing weather concerns ahead of the College Football Playoff semifinal game between Texas and Ohio State at AT&T Stadium on Friday, January 10. A winter storm watch is in effect until January 10, with snowfall projections ranging from 3-6 inches and arctic winds expected to begin on Thursday.
To prepare for the inclement weather, the City of Arlington has treated over three dozen city-owned bridge crossings with salt brine to prevent ice formation. Public Works crews will be monitoring road conditions and are prepared to address any icy situations around AT&T Stadium on Friday.
In a statement, the City emphasized public safety as its top priority, urging residents and visitors to exercise caution when driving in inclement weather conditions. The city will keep Cotton Bowl organizers and fans updated on any changes due to weather through its communication platforms.
The game is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff at AT&T Stadium, and the City of Arlington will work with event organizers to communicate important information, such as parking or traffic impacts, to the public.
