Weezer bassist Scott Shriner recently made a bizarre statement after his wife, Jillian Shriner, was shot by police and charged with attempted murder. The incident occurred on Tuesday when the LAPD responded to a hit-and-run call and encountered Jillian outside her home, where she allegedly refused to drop her handgun despite multiple requests.
According to reports, Jillian, 51, had previously been diagnosed with cancer and underwent surgery ahead of her arrest. She was booked for attempted murder after police opened fire on her when she pointed the gun at them.
Despite the severity of the situation, Scott appeared unfazed during a recent outing with his four dogs in Los Angeles. When asked about Jillian’s well-being, he replied, “She’s alright, thank you for asking” and even promoted their upcoming Coachella performance with the phrase, “See you at Coachella!”
It is unclear if Jillian will attend the music festival to support her husband. Weezer has announced that they will be performing on the Mojave stage next Saturday, and Scott seemed to be taking his role as a promotional poster in stride.
Jillian and Scott have been married since 2005 and share two adopted children together. The author was taken into custody after the incident and is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
