Director Wes Anderson’s latest feature, “The Phoenician Scheme”, has released its trailer, featuring Benicio del Toro as business magnate Zsa-zsa Korda and Mia Threapleton as his nun daughter Sister Liesel. Michael Cera plays her tutor Bjorn Lund. The film also stars Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, Scarlett Johansson, and Benedict Cumberbatch.
Anderson co-wrote the story with Roman Coppola and Alexandre Desplat composed the score. Shot in Germany, “The Phoenician Scheme” will have a limited release on May 30 before expanding wider on June 6. Anderson is known for his distinct visual style but has stated that he focuses more on collaboration than personal style. The film will be distributed by Focus Features, which previously released Anderson’s “Asteroid City”.
