Wes Anderson’s 13th directorial venture, The Phoenician Scheme, brings together an unusually large and talented ensemble cast in its first footage. The espionage thriller follows Benicio del Toro as Zsa-zsa Korda, a dashing millionaire who has survived multiple plane crashes and fathered nine children.
Del Toro is joined by Mia Threapleton, Michael Cera, Benedict Cumberbatch, Rupert Friend, Richard Ayoade, Tom Hanks, Scarlett Johansson, Bryan Cranston, and Jeffrey Wright. The diverse cast also includes Mathieu Amalric, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and a recurring appearance by Roman Coppola.
The Phoenician Scheme will be released in late May, with many speculating it may debut at the Cannes film festival later that month. With its star-studded cast, Anderson is set to bring his unique blend of humor and style to this latest project.
