The Writers Guild of America (WGA) has announced its feature film nominations, furthering the momentum of contenders “Anora,” “Wicked,” and “A Complete Unknown.” The announcement was delayed due to ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles. Films not written under WGA or sister guilds were excluded from the nominations.
Notable films that did not qualify include “The Brutalist,” “Conclave,” and “Emilia PĂ©rez.” However, these movies are still considered significant Oscar contenders. Other ineligible nominees include “Sing Sing,” “A Different Man,” “Hard Truths,” “Inside Out 2,” and “The Wild Robot.”
The WGA nominations will be announced next Thursday, followed by the Oscars on February 15, where winners of the WGA Awards will also be revealed. The complete list of nominations, including television and animation categories, can be found on wga.org.
