Apple has recently announced its new iPhone 16e, MacBook Air, and Mac Studio models featuring M4 and M3 Ultra chips. With these new releases, we’re looking ahead to the summer of 2025 for more exciting product announcements from the company. Here are three categories that might see some movement before then.
Firstly, Apple is working on a smart home accessory called the Command Center, which will serve as a central hub for managing your smart home devices. Although the exact release date is uncertain, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggests it may launch in early 2025 or later due to its reliance on iOS updates.
Next up, Apple plans to refresh the Mac Pro in the summer of 2025. The next-generation model was initially expected to feature an M4 Ultra chip, but the recent debut of the M3 Ultra chip has raised questions about this claim. Instead, the new Mac Pro might use the M3 Ultra chip.
Apple is also aiming to release a new AirTag with improved location tracking features, possibly equipped with the second-generation Ultra Wideband chip. The device’s design is expected to remain largely unchanged, but it may offer better range and improved Precision Finding capabilities.
In terms of software updates, iOS 19 is rumored to be unveiled at WWDC in June 2025, but its official release will likely happen later in September with the new iPhone lineup. However, development on iOS 18 features has pushed back the launch of iOS 19, potentially leading to a rolling release schedule.
Additionally, Apple is working on a smarter version of Siri that incorporates large language models (LLMs) for better conversational capabilities. However, this feature might not be ready for WWDC 2025 and could be delayed until at least iOS 20.
Finally, an updated version of iOS 18.5 is expected to be released in May, which will bring on-screen awareness, improved personal context understanding, and deeper per-app controls to Siri.
