WhatsApp Adds Call Dialer to iPhone App for Easier Contacts-Free Calling

Meta has introduced a new call dialer feature in the latest beta of WhatsApp for iOS, allowing users to make calls without adding contacts first. The feature is located in the Calls tab, accessible by tapping the “+” button. Users can enter someone’s phone number and initiate a call if it’s registered with WhatsApp.

This update aims to simplify the process of calling people and businesses, making it easier than before. With this new feature, Meta brings WhatsApp one step closer to becoming a full replacement for Apple’s Phone app, which now allows users to choose a third-party app as default for calls and text messages.

Additionally, WhatsApp has announced improvements to its call quality, especially video calls, with higher resolution. Users can also initiate calls from specific members of group chats.

The feature is gradually being rolled out to WhatsApp beta testers via TestFlight. The updated version of WhatsApp is available for free on the App Store.
