WhatsApp is finally working on its highly anticipated username reservation feature, allowing users to secure their desired usernames before the official launch. This feature, which aims to provide better protection for your phone number, will be available in the messaging app’s profile tab under ‘Username.’ Here are the rules users must follow:
1. Usernames cannot start with “www.”
2. They must contain at least one letter.
3. Only lowercase letters (a–z), numbers (0–9), periods, and underscores are allowed.
4. Usernames can’t end with a domain like .com or .net.
5. They also can’t start or end with a period.
6. The character length must be between 3 and 30 characters.
Users will be able to reserve their usernames before the feature is officially live, giving them an early chance to secure their desired handle.
