March 2025 marks the start of new Social Security payments, and we’re here to guide you through what to expect.
Beneficiaries who received Social Security prior to May 1997 and those receiving both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income have already been paid. For everyone else, payments will be distributed over the next few weeks.
A recent COLA increase has led to a pay bump for eligible recipients. If you’re unsure when your payment is due, check the schedule below:
– Born before May 1997: March 3
– Birthday falls between January 1 and October 10: March 12
– Birthday falls between November 11 and December 20: March 19
– Birthday falls between December 21 and March 31: March 26
However, payment dates may vary due to the Social Security Administration’s schedule. Typically, payments are sent on the second Wednesday of the month, but there’s an exception for recipients born before May 1997.
For those with birthdays between January 1 and October 10, payments will be received on the second Wednesday of the month. For others, payment dates depend on their birthdate:
– Between November 11 and December 20: Third Wednesday
– Between December 21 and March 31: Fourth Wednesday
Keep in mind that other government benefits may have different payment schedules.
If you’re missing your Social Security check, try waiting three extra mailing days before contacting the administration. You can then call their national toll-free number at 1-800-772-1213 for assistance.
