ZDNET recommends several iPad models that support iPadOS 26, which includes improved productivity features and a new visual redesign. The following models are compatible:
* iPad Pro (M4)
* iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation or later)
* iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation and later)
* iPad Air (M3)
* iPad Air (M2)
* iPad Air (3rd generation and later)
* iPad (A16)
* iPad (8th generation and later)
* iPad Mini (A17 Pro)
* iPad Mini (5th generation and later)
The 7th-generation base model iPad will no longer receive major operating system updates, meaning it won’t be compatible with iPadOS 26.
Before the general release, users can download the developer beta to test the software and provide feedback. The public beta typically becomes available a few weeks after WWDC. Once released, iPadOS 26 should launch in tandem with Apple’s fall products and may include some issues during the first few weeks and months.
