White House Supports Israeli Decision to Block Aid to Gaza Amid Ceasefire Talks

US National Security Council spokesman Brian Hughes announced that the White House will support Israel’s decision to block aid to Gaza until Hamas leaders agree to a ceasefire extension. The move comes as the first phase of the ceasefire expired on Saturday.

According to Hughes, Israel has negotiated in good faith with Hamas since the start of the administration to secure the release of hostages held captive by Hamas terrorists. However, Hamas has indicated it is no longer interested in negotiating a ceasefire.

Israel announced on Sunday that it will halt the entry of all goods and supplies into the Gaza Strip unless Hamas accepts a new proposal for an extended ceasefire. The move was made in coordination with the Trump administration’s Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff.

The two sides have been negotiating a permanent ceasefire, which includes the release of dozens of remaining hostages in exchange for an Israeli pullout. However, talks have stalled due to disagreements over the terms of the agreement.

Hamas accused Israel of attempting to derail the fragile truce by suspending aid deliveries. The group described the move as “cheap extortion” and a war crime.
