White Stripes Nominated for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Again

The White Stripes have been nominated for the second time for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The Detroit band, led by guitarist Jack White and drummer Meg White, is among 14 nominees for the 2025 class. This marks their first nomination since 2023, when they were one of several high-profile artists who did not make it into the final inductees.

If selected, the White Stripes would become the 22nd Detroit artist to be enshrined in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s performers wing. The band, known for hits like “Seven Nation Army” and albums such as “White Blood Cells” and “Elephant,” led a Detroit rock revival in the late 1990s.

Other notable Detroit artists who have been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame include Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and Eminem. The White Stripes’ nomination is the latest in a long line of notable inductions for the city’s rich music history.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s 2025 inductees will be announced in late April after voting by over 1,200 music professionals and historians.
