Whoopi Goldberg Stands Behind Carrie Underwood at Trump Inauguration

Actress and singer Whoopi Goldberg has expressed her support for country music star Carrie Underwood’s decision to perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20. Despite being a vocal critic of Trump, Goldberg stated that she stands behind Underwood’s right to choose where to perform.

According to Goldberg, public figures have the freedom to make their own decisions about politics and art. She noted that MSNBC hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski met with Trump after he won the presidential election, and therefore, Carrie Underwood also has the same right.

Goldberg added that she will not be watching the performance or the inauguration, but expressed her support for Underwood’s decision. Her “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin echoed Goldberg’s sentiments, saying she has no plans to watch Underwood or the event and instead has scheduled a spa day.

Others in the entertainment industry have also weighed in on the controversy. Alyssa Farah Griffin, who previously worked under Trump at the White House, believes that society often tries to “cancel people’s livelihoods” because of their politics. She thinks that Underwood’s decision to perform is not a bad business move and may even make her an icon for the MAGA movement.

Underwood has been criticized for her decision to perform at the inauguration, but she issued a statement expressing her love for the country and honor to be a part of the historic event. Other performers scheduled for the event include classical crossover singer Christopher D. Macchio and JD Vance’s musical selection.
