Assassin’s Creed Shadows was pushed to March 20, 2025, after multiple delays. The most recent delay was only a month, but Ubisoft hasn’t made significant changes since the delay. According to the game director, the delay was mostly about polishing and updating minor features without altering core systems. However, the parkour system needed extensive tweaking due to its complexity with Japan’s unique architectural styles.
Originally scheduled for November 2024, the game has been pushed twice—first to February 25, then to March 20, citing player feedback as a key reason. The director mentioned that the complex roofs of Feudal Japan required specific codes and animations to improve parkour fluidity.
The delay also came after the game’s director acknowledged that “a couple of things in progression” were updated for better engagement. While most updates were minor, significant tweaks were made to the parkour system to address an obstacle unique to Japanese architecture.
Additionally, Assassin’s Creed: Infinity will appear as the Animus Hub within Shadows, adding depth and continuity to the franchise.
