Will Ferrell is reuniting with his Saturday Night Live (SNL) co-star Molly Shannon for a new Netflix golf comedy series titled GOLF. The show, which was initially announced as a 10-episode series in May 2024, has undergone significant changes and will now star Ferrell alongside Shannon.
The series follows Ferrell’s character as a fictional golf legend, with Shannon’s role currently under wraps. The show is being produced by Rian Johnson, Chris Henchy, Harper Steele, David Gordon Green, and Ferrell, among others.
Ferrell and Shannon first appeared on SNL together from 1995 to 2001, starring in iconic sketches such as “Dog Show” and appearing together in the SNL films A Night at the Roxbury and Superstar. They also reunited in 2018 and 2019 as hosts of the Rose Parade.
The new series is part of Netflix’s efforts to create more golf-themed content, with the platform announcing a low-cost ad-free streamer called Howdy priced at $2.99 per month. Additionally, Fox One will launch on August 21st, offering programming from the Fox broadcast network and other platforms for $19.99 per month.
