Will Smith Returns to Grammys After 2022 Incident

Will Smith made his first return to a major televised awards show on Sunday, attending the Grammys to honor the late Quincy Jones with an emotional tribute. The segment featured performances by Herbie Hancock, Cynthia Erivo, Lainey Wilson, and Stevie Wonder.

Smith began his speech by paying tribute to Jones, calling him “one of the most groundbreaking and influential figures of our times.” He credited Jones for changing his life and helping him become a successful actor and rapper. The Grammys tribute was Smith’s first major televised appearance since slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars in 2022.

However, despite the controversy surrounding his previous incident, Smith has made numerous appearances at the Grammys throughout his career, earning eight Grammy nominations and four wins.
