Willkie Loses 7 Litigators to Cooley Following Trump Deal

A group of seven litigators from law firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher are leaving the company to join rival firm Cooley. The move comes after Willkie struck a deal with President Donald Trump to avoid an executive order, while Cooley took on representation against the administration’s executive order in another case.

Managing partners Simona Agnolucci and Benedict Hur, who were formerly partners at Keker, Van Nest & Peters, will lead the new team. The move highlights the shift in strategy among law firms during the Trump presidency.
