Microsoft is facing a problem with its latest Windows 11 24H2 update, which has started uninstalling the company’s Copilot AI assistant on some devices. The issue occurs with updates KB5053598 (Windows 11 24H2), KB5053602 (Windows 11 23H2), and KB5053606 (Windows 10 22H2). Microsoft has confirmed the bug, updated its release notes, and is working on a solution.
In the meantime, users can manually reinstall the Copilot app from the Microsoft Store and pin it to their taskbar. However, this update is not the only problem with the latest Windows 11 24H2 update. Users have reported issues with unexpected Blue Screen of Death errors, crashing SSDs, and problems with Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP). Microsoft is currently investigating these issues.
Note that Copilot for Microsoft 365 is not affected by the bug. The company will provide further updates on its progress in resolving the issue once available.
