Windows 11 Build 22631.4825 Released to Release Preview Channel

Microsoft has released Windows 11 Build 22631.4825 (KB5050092) to Insiders in the Release Preview Channel. This update includes several new features and improvements, which are categorized into gradual rollout and normal rollout sections.

Gradual Rollout:
– Taskbar: New previews for apps on the taskbar with improved animations.
– Windows Studio Effects: An icon appears in the system tray when using an app that supports this feature, and it can be accessed by hovering over the icon.
– Work across devices: Resuming work on a file from where you left off on your PC, using a phone, is now possible for certain files like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and PDFs.
– Fonts: A new simplified Chinese font called Simsun-ExtG has been added with 9,753 ideographs that support Unicode Extensions G, H, and I.

Normal Rollout:
– Task Manager: Fixed issues with CPU index numbers when setting process affinity on servers with multiple NUMA nodes.
– Remote desktop: Reconnection to console sessions now responds properly again.
– Exporting chart objects: The issue where some file formats couldn’t be exported has been fixed.
– Virtual memory: An issue that caused apps to fail due to virtual memory depletion has been addressed.
– Chinese Pinyin input method editor (IME): Automatic suggestions in search boxes will no longer be given for certain websites, and manual suggestions can be accessed using Ctrl + Tab or the chevron button.
