Windows 11 Gains New Features and Improvements with December 2025 Patch Tuesday Update

Microsoft has released the December 2025 Patch Tuesday update, which includes new features, improvements, and security patches for Windows 11. The update is mandatory for version 25H2/24H2 and 23H2 users.

Key changes include dark mode support in File Explorer, Virtual Workspaces settings, and enhanced Gaming experiences with full-screen mode. Additionally, keyboard backlight performance has improved, and Pens that support haptic feedback now provide tactile responses when interacting with the Windows interface.

Other new features include an updated layout for Settings, a simplified File Explorer context menu, and improvements to Taskbar animations. The update also includes fixes for various issues, such as the Automatically hide the taskbar setting not turning off as expected.

The updates are rolling out gradually, and Microsoft has confirmed that it will not release optional updates in December due to its engineers being away for the holidays.
