Microsoft has released the latest cumulative updates for Windows 11, versions 24H2 and 23H2, to address security vulnerabilities and introduce new features. The July 2025 Patch Tuesday security patches are included in today’s update, making it mandatory for all users.
To install the update, users can go to Settings > Windows Update and click on ‘Check for Updates.’ Alternatively, they can manually download and install the update from the Microsoft Update Catalog.
The updates bring several changes, including:
* New default browser settings in the European Economic Area (EEA) region
* Improved Click to Do functionality with Microsoft 365 Copilot
* Enhanced Narrator features, such as Screen Curtain for improved focus and privacy
* A new PC migration experience for transferring files and settings between PCs
* A revamped Settings homepage for commercial customers
* Taskbar icon resizing to fit more apps when space is limited
* Text descriptions for assistive technologies in Quick settings
* Adjusted indicator under taskbar apps for better visibility
* Fixed issues with WIN + CTRL + Number window switching and flickering media controls
Additionally, Voice Access now supports Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese, and users can add custom words to the dictionary. However, Microsoft is aware of a problem with certain fonts in regions like China, Japan, and Korea.
The updates are part of an ongoing effort to address common threats in 2025, including cloud attacks that rely on simple techniques. The report reveals eight key techniques used by cloud-fluent threat actors, highlighting the importance of staying vigilant against these types of threats.
