Windows 11 Preview Update Brings Invisible Password Icon Bug

Microsoft has confirmed that the latest Windows 11 preview update (KB5064081) is causing a UI issue where the password sign-in icon disappears from the lock screen on specific builds (24H2 and 25H2). The bug affects systems with multiple sign-in methods, like PINs, fingerprints, security keys, and passwords.

On affected devices, users can still access their passwords by clicking on the empty area highlighted by the mouse cursor. However, for those without a mouse, this can be confusing, leading to frustration, especially if they forget their PINs.

Microsoft has listed the bug under “Known issues” but hasn’t released a fix or provided a repair timeline yet. To avoid potential issues, users who don’t use preview builds should consider rolling back or avoiding KB5064081 until Microsoft provides a proper solution.
