Microsoft has recently discovered a Windows Defender security bypass with potentially devastating implications, but for Windows 11 users, the issue is more of an opportunity. A recent hack allows users to bypass the Microsoft Account requirement when setting up a new device, and it’s surprisingly easy.
The original bypass method used command line prompts, but Microsoft has since removed this feature in Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26200.5516. However, a new hack was discovered by user Wither OrNot, which requires only two steps:
1. Press Shift + F10
2. Type “start ms-cxh:localonly” and press Enter
This bypass method is found in the navigation.json file of Windows System Apps. It’s essential to note that this exploit may not be available for long, as Microsoft will likely block it soon.
Users who want to take advantage of this hack should act quickly. This means they can now choose between using a Microsoft Account or opting out of one when setting up their new device. While Microsoft aims to force users into having an internet-connected Microsoft Account, the bypass hack provides an alternative solution for those concerned about privacy and password recovery issues.
