Microsoft has acknowledged that its latest major Windows update, version 24H2, has stopped certain Ubisoft games from working. The update, which was released throughout the month of [insert current month], has been causing issues with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Assassin’s Creed Origins, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and Star Wars Outlaws.
Players who have installed the update on their systems may encounter problems such as unresponsiveness while playing games or loading black screens. To address this issue, Microsoft has applied a “compatibility hold” to PCs with these games installed, meaning the latest Windows update will not automatically roll out to them yet.
The company advises against manually updating to version 24H2 until the issue is resolved. In response, Ubisoft released a temporary fix for Star Wars Outlaws, but notes that it’s not perfect and further issues may arise until a proper solution is found.
