Winter break begins this month for hundreds of thousands of students in the Fort Worth area. Most traditional public school districts start their holiday break on December 19, while some have early release days or staff development days on different dates.
Some schools, like Fort Worth ISD and Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD, will be closed from December 19 to January 5. Others, including Harmony Public Schools and Uplift Education, will be open until December 22 but close the following week.
Not all students are on the same schedule, as some districts have early release days or other variations in their calendars. Teachers may also return to work before students do, depending on the district’s policies.
To plan ahead, families should check their school’s website or contact the district office for exact dates and schedules. District offices and central services may operate on different schedules during the holiday.
