Wisconsin Business Leaders Share Yearly Goals for Growth and Learning

Wisconsin 275 has asked its selection of influential business leaders what they’d like to learn this year. The responses are varied, but some common themes emerge.

Artificial Intelligence was a top area of interest for over a dozen executives. They see AI as key to improving their businesses and staying ahead in their industries. For example, Andy Harmening, president and CEO of Associated Bank, wants to develop the bank’s knowledge of AI to support its customers and communities.

Others expressed broader interest in learning about advanced technology, including AI, Quantum, and Autonomy. Ryan Festerling, president and CEO of QPS Employment Group, noted that understanding the intersection between high tech and high touch is crucial for companies seeking a competitive advantage.

Other areas of interest included pickleball, with five executives mentioning it as something they’d like to learn more about; foreign languages, with almost 10 respondents wanting to improve their Spanish or French skills; and hobbies, such as snowboarding, golf, and changing diapers.

Some leaders also expressed interest in personal development, including learning new leadership skills (Chad Bauman) or improving family governance practices (Katie Poehling Seymour).

Overall, the responses highlight the diverse interests and goals of Wisconsin’s business elite for the upcoming year.
