Wisconsin Reports First Measles Cases in 2025

Measles has returned to Wisconsin, with nine cases confirmed in Oconto County, according to health officials. The first case was confirmed through testing, while the remaining eight were identified based on exposure and symptoms.

All of the affected individuals are believed to have been exposed to a common source during travel outside of Wisconsin, but no public points of exposure have been identified. Health officials stress that the risk to the community is low.

As a highly contagious disease, measles can be spread through the air. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported over 1,300 cases of measles nationwide this year.
