Wizards of the Coast Apologizes for Removing Popular Baldur’s Village Mod

Wizards of the Coast has apologized for mistakenly removing a popular mod called Baldur’s Village from Nexus Mods due to a DMCA takedown notice. The mod, created by ‘Xun’, adds romanceable Astarion and other characters from Baldur’s Gate 3 to Stardew Valley.

Baldur’s Village was widely praised by fans and critics alike for its creative crossover with the popular farming simulation game. Larian Studios’ Swen Vincke criticized WotC for taking down the mod, stating that it highlights the impact of fan creations on IP recognition.

Wizards of the Coast has since acknowledged the mistake, saying “The Baldur’s Village DMCA takedown was issued mistakenly – we are sorry about that.” The company is now working to fix the issue, allowing fans to once again enjoy the popular mod.
