WLFI meteorologist Chad Evans is leaving the station as part of a company-wide restructuring plan by Allen Media Group, the owner of the local broadcaster. The changes come amid financial struggles for the group.
Evans will no longer be on-air after several other staff members have left recently, including anchors and reporters. The shift in weather coverage to The Weather Channel is set to roll out nationwide in 2025, providing world-class meteorological expertise and advanced technology.
Evans joined WLFI in 2009 and returned to the station in 2018 after a brief departure. The layoffs are part of Allen Media Group’s efforts to adapt to changing market conditions and improve its operations.
