WNBA Power Rankings: Atlanta Dream on Top After Strong Performances

The 2025 WNBA season is one month old, and every team has a loss on its record. The New York Liberty’s nine-game win streak was snapped, but they remain the top team due to injuries to starters Brionna Jones and Leonie Fiebich.

The Atlanta Dream are having an incredible week, led by Rhyne Howard’s franchise-record 36 points against Chicago and her historic 300th three-pointer. Allisha Gray also had a career-high 32 points in a blowout win over the Washington Mystics.

Coach Karl Smesko has quickly established his team’s identity with free-agent signings Brionna Jones and Brittney Griner, and bench players like Naz Hillmon are starting to make an impact. The Dream will face a tough test on Tuesday when they take on the reigning champions Liberty in Brooklyn.

Here are this week’s top 10 WNBA power rankings:

1. New York Liberty (8-3)
2. Minnesota Lynx (7-4)
3. Atlanta Dream (8-3)
4. Indiana Fever (5-5)
5. Seattle Storm (6-5)
6. Phoenix Mercury (8-4)
7. Golden State Valkyries (4-6)
8. Las Vegas Aces (5-6)
9. Los Angeles Sparks (5-6)
10. Washington Mystics (3-7)

The WNBA power rankings will continue to evolve as the season progresses, but for now, the Dream are on top after their impressive performances.
