WNBA Sex Toy Disruptions Spark Online Community

A coordinated effort by an online community has thrown sex toys onto WNBA courts, with the incidents occurring in multiple cities across the US. The disruptions began on July 28, a day after a similar incident occurred during a Los Angeles Sparks-Indiana Fever game.

The memecoin behind the chaos is called Green Dildo Coin, which was launched just days before the first sex toy was thrown onto a WNBA court. The coin’s website and online storefront have generated significant revenue, with some users speculating on when the next disruption will occur.

WNBA players and coaches have expressed their disappointment and concern over the incidents, citing player safety as a top priority. “The sexualization of women is what’s used to hold women down, and this is no different,” Minnesota Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve said.

The WNBA has stated that anyone throwing an object onto the court will be immediately ejected and subject to a one-year ban. Law enforcement has arrested several individuals involved in the incidents, including a 23-year-old Georgia man who was charged with disorderly conduct and public indecency.

As the chaos continues, online users are celebrating the attention it brings to their community, but also acknowledging that some individuals may be putting their lives at risk. “If we’re too disruptive for too long, people will get pissed off,” a member of the Green Dildo Coin community said in an X livestream.
