Woman Loses 10 Stone After Cushing’s Disease Diagnosis and Daily Exercise Routine

Hannah Mai, 37, from Coventry, Warwickshire, has lost an impressive 10 stone in just two years after being diagnosed with Cushing’s disease, a hormonal disorder caused by high cortisol levels.

In October 2020, Hannah was diagnosed with the condition, which had caused her to gain 10 stone in just over two and a half years due to high cortisol levels. She underwent brain surgery in February 2021 to remove the pituitary tumour causing the condition and was prescribed steroids to manage it.

However, after coming off her steroid medication, Hannah became determined to shed the weight she gained due to Cushing’s disease. She adopted a low-carb, high-protein diet with lots of vegetables and daily pilates sessions, which paid off as she slimmed down from 20 stone to 10 stone within two years.

Hannah credits her exercise routine for helping her achieve this impressive weight loss. “I really pushed myself, I worked super hard, cut out all sugar, cut out dairy, and gluten after I was diagnosed with celiac disease,” she said.

The mother of [undisclosed] said that losing the weight has made her feel happier and more confident. She is now raising money for The Pituitary Foundation to help others affected by Cushing’s disease.
