A woman traveling from Los Angeles to Philadelphia was stopped by TSA officers after they discovered multiple prohibited items in her carry-on bag, including knives and fireworks. The incident occurred on December 15 at Terminal 4 of the airport.
The woman’s bag was flagged during a security checkpoint, leading to its search by officers who found a box of firecrackers, three pocket knives, pepper spray, pistol-shaped keychains, and thread scissors. The TSA described the discovery as “shocking” and stressed the importance of following their guidelines for traveling with prohibited items.
According to Jason Pantages, LAX TSA Federal Security Director, the incident highlights the need for travelers to double-check their bags before arriving at the airport, especially during the busy holiday travel season.
