Woman Told to Donate or Give Away Hundreds of Mismatched Amazon Packages from Chinese Seller

A San Jose woman’s life was made “hell” after receiving hundreds of mismatched Amazon packages linked to a Chinese seller. The packages, sent over the course of about a year, arrived at her home non-stop before Amazon finally picked them up this week.

The woman initially thought someone had put her address on the wrong label, but it turned out that a Chinese online seller called Liusandedian had used her address on hundreds of labels for its faulty faux-leather car seat covers. The company sold the $129 covers under the brand name Etkin and claimed they fit a wide range of sedans and SUVs.

However, dozens of buyers said the covers didn’t fit and were hit with steep return shipping fees to send them back to Liusandedian’s supposed “return center.” Unbeknownst to them, the return labels listed Holton’s home address, resulting in hundreds of packages piling up on her yard.

The Amazon listing for the item was previously marked as “currently unavailable” with customer reviews disabled due to over 40% of negative feedback. When Holton tried to resolve the issue by filing six complaint tickets, Amazon told her to donate or give away the packages, not return them.

Following an investigation by ABC 7 News, Amazon apologized to Holton and is working directly with her to pick up any remaining packages. The company has vowed to crack down on these practices.
