Get ready for a scrumdiddlyumptious adventure! The wait is finally over, and the doors to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory are opening for the first time ever. A new reality competition series, “The Golden Ticket,” is coming to Netflix, inspired by Roald Dahl’s beloved universe.
In this high-stakes social experiment, a group of lucky contestants will compete for a coveted golden ticket, which grants access to Wonka’s whimsical wonderland. However, just having a golden ticket won’t be enough – players must adapt, strategize, and withstand games, tests, and temptations designed to prove their instincts, resilience, and ability to thrive in the chaos of a retro-futuristic dreamscape.
The show’s casting director, Robert Sterne, is excited to bring this unique project to life. “We are thrilled to bring the magic of The Chocolate Factory to life like never before,” said Netflix Vice President Jeff Gaspin. “This one-of-a-kind reality competition blends adventure, strategy, and social dynamics, creating an experience that is as captivating as it is unpredictable.”
Applicants must be 18 years or older and legal residents of the United States to apply for the show. The filming location and premiere date will be announced at a later date.
“The Golden Ticket” is the latest Roald Dahl project from Netflix, which has joined forces with the Roald Dahl Story Company to bring stories from the author’s universe to fans worldwide. The Twits, an animated movie based on Dahl’s 1980 book of the same name, is also set to hit Netflix this year.
Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the launch of “The Golden Ticket.”
