Wordle Wednesday has come to an end, but we have the answer! Yesterday’s riddle was a tough one, but today we’ll break it down and provide some helpful tips. The answer is 50.
To solve this puzzle, imagine Santa’s presents being divided among three elves. First, half of the presents are taken by the first elf, leaving 25. Adding 3 to that number gives us 28. Next, the second elf takes half of what’s left and adds 3, resulting in 14. Then, the third elf divides the remaining eight presents and adds 3, giving us 7. Finally, adding those numbers together (42 + 7 = 49) leaves one present for Santa, making it a total of 50.
For today’s Wordle, the hint is to attach something, and it has a double letter. To start, try FLARE or MAFIA as your first guesses. FLARE was a lucky guess that left just five possible solutions, while MAFIA was a great second guess that led to AFFIX being the correct answer.
In competitive Wordle, scoring is based on how quickly you solve the puzzle. Guessing in one round earns 3 points, two rounds earn 2 points, and so on. Beating your opponent earns 1 point, tying gives 0 points, and losing deducts -1 point.
