Workday Acquires Paradox for AI-Powered Talent Acquisition Suite

Workday has acquired Paradox, a startup that provides an AI-driven candidate experience agent to simplify the job application process. The acquisition comes as Workday reported better-than-expected second-quarter earnings.

Paradox’s technology powers more than 189 million AI-assisted candidate conversations, boosting employee conversion rates. The platform offers 24/7 support and responds to recruitment needs in retail, restaurants, healthcare, logistics, manufacturing, and financial services.

Workday plans to integrate Paradox into its Recruiting suite, expanding its AI capabilities in talent acquisition. The deal, expected to close in Workday’s fiscal third quarter, was not disclosed.

Analyst Holger Mueller said the acquisition highlights the growing importance of talent acquisition in the AI era. “The gloves have come off in the talent acquisition game,” he stated.

Workday also reported strong second-quarter earnings, with revenue increasing 12.6% year-over-year and net income beating Wall Street estimates by 9 cents per share. The company raised its fiscal 2026 subscription revenue guidance to $8.815 billion, up 14% from the previous year.

CEO Carl Eschenbach expressed confidence in Workday’s AI-powered talent acquisition suite, stating that customers will be able to find, hire, and onboard workers more effectively.
