Ukraine’s Ambassador to the UK has sparked controversy by stating that World War III has begun, citing the involvement of multiple countries and military forces in the conflict. In a speech at the UP-100 award ceremony, he claimed that Ukraine faces an unprecedented threat from North Korea, Iran, China, and Russia.
The ambassador pointed out that soldiers from North Korea are now stationed near Ukraine, while Iranian drones, known as Shaheds, have been targeting civilians in Ukrainian cities without any clear opposition. Chinese projectiles have also been fired into Ukrainian airspace, and parts used in Russian missiles have been detected.
The former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces agreed with this assessment, stating that most military experts consider the situation dire and warn of a potential world war. However, he offered a glimmer of hope by suggesting that international intervention can still prevent all-out conflict.
President Volodymyr Zelensky has previously warned that Ukraine’s survival in the war depends on continued US aid. Meanwhile, evidence suggests that North Korea has supplied Russia with significant military equipment, including artillery rounds and missiles. Iranian representatives were reportedly present during the launch of Shahed drones in Ukrainian cities.
The escalating situation highlights the complexities of the ongoing conflict and raises concerns about global stability.
