World’s Thinnest Foldable Phone to Launch in October 2025

Samsung has confirmed that it plans to launch its tri-folding smartphone, the Galaxy Z TriFold, in October 2025. The device will feature two inward folding hinges, making it more durable than Huawei’s first tri-folding smartphone. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and 16GB RAM, with a camera setup similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

The company also announced plans for an XR headset, which will be the world’s first device to run Android XR. The headset features Micro OLED or OLEDoS displays with a 90Hz refresh rate and eye tracking. It is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chip and an external battery pack.

Samsung’s move aims to reinforce its AI capabilities and expand its Galaxy ecosystem with new form-factors, including extended reality devices. The company expects to launch these products before the end of this year, solidifying its position ahead of Apple’s first foldable iPhone in late 2026.
